Why MeinaMix
Built for beautiful results without a novel-length prompt
Creators reach for MeinaMix when they want anime, 2D, portrait, landscape, or semi-realistic illustration looks — and they want the model to do more of the heavy lifting.
Little prompting, strong art
Official model notes stress good results even with short prompts — helpful if you are still learning prompt craft.
Anime and illustration range
Community and author tags cover anime, 2D, portraits, scenery, semi-realism, and illustration-style work.
Long public version line
From early Meina versions through V5, V7, V11, and the final SD 1.5 release V12 — you can pick a generation that fits your taste.

History
From early mixes to V12 Final, then SDXL
MeinaMix is a checkpoint merge: the author combined several models and kept the best results after many experiments. There is no single public “exact recipe,” but the public milestones are clear.
- 1
Early Meina versions
Public history reaches back through Meina V2 and later mixes as the series found its style.
- 2
V5 & V7 (early 2023)
V5 aimed to be more all-round (2.5D, anime, near-realistic). V7 improved hands, dark scenes, lighting, camera angles, and detail.
- 3
V11 (mid 2023)
V11 reduced overly dark outputs, improved faces/eyes without hires, and lowered random prompt bias.
- 4
V12 Final, then MeinaXL
V12 (2024-10) is the final SD 1.5 MeinaMix: more stable and creative, with gentler negatives. The author then moved focus to SDXL (MeinaXL).

How to use it
A simple starting recipe (V12-style)
You can run weights in local tools such as Automatic1111, Forge, or ComfyUI. Author guidance for the final SD 1.5 line is a solid default when you start.
1. Clip Skip 2
Author habits include Clip Skip 2 and enabling K sampler quantization where available.
2. Sampler and steps
Try DPM++ SDE Karras 20–30, DPM++ 2M Karras 20–60, or Euler a 40–60. CFG often works around 4–9.
3. Resolution and hires
Portrait sizes like 512×768 or 512×1024 are common. For distant faces, use Hires.Fix (e.g. R-ESRGAN 4x+ Anime6B).
4. Try in the playground
Use the dual-tab playground and select MeinaMix V11, V7, or V5 in the model list when the demo offers them.
Playground
Try MeinaMix in the browser
Open the playground, switch between two demos, and pick MeinaMix V11, V7, or V5 from the model list when available. No local GPU install required to start.
Playgrounds are third-party multi-model demos. Availability, listed checkpoints, and queue times can change upstream.
